INTRODUCTION

Simon Lawson studied at the Royal Academy Schools, then worked for Alecto Editions on the production of Joseph Bank’s Florilegium; the botanical engravings resulting from Captain Cook’s travels. He subsequently printed at Hope-Sufference, Press London Contemporary Art and Thumbprint Editions, working on projects for artists including Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin and the Chapman Brothers, before establishing his own studio and print

gallery in Huguenot Place, Wandsworth. In 2006 Simon also became the etching tutor at the Royal Academy Schools. Alongside Eileen Cooper RA, he initiated a print publishing programme. Now called RA Editions, an ongoing series of collaborative projects with RA members, invited artists and Schools Alumni. These have included Simon himself, Tracey Emin, Phillip King and Grayson Perry.

STUDIO

Huguenot Editions works with artists, publishers and museums from around the world to create fine art prints. We specialize in all intaglio and relief printmaking techniques, and have the facilities and experience to offer a diverse range of processes including:

Etching (hard and soft ground), Photo Etching, Photopolymer Gravure, Aquatints, Sugarlift and Carborundum along with printing from wood and linoleum

Large format printing can be accommodated; our largest press is 3 x 1.5 m.

Services include a steel-facing facility for plates; this allows a longer edition to be produced from copper plates and is highly recommended when printing with colour on copper.
